2021 Global Korean Scholarship for Graduate Degree

 1. Program Objective

    Global Korea Scholarship is designed to provide international students with opportunities to study at higher educational institutions in Korea at graduate-level degrees, which will enhance international  education exchange and deepen mutual friendship between Korea and participating countries.

 2. Number of the Korean Education Center candidates: 3 (Embassy Quota)

 3. Period of Scholarship

 o Master’s Degree Program

 3 years (1 year of Korean language program + 2 years of degree program)

 o Doctoral Degree Program

 4 years (1 year of Korean language program + 3 years of degree program)

 4. Eligibility

 o Nationality : Applicants and their parents must hold non-Korean Citizenship.

 o Age : Applicants must be under 40 years of age as of September 1, 2021.

 o Degree Requirements : Applicants must hold or must be expecting to hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree by August 31, 2021.

 o Grades : An applicant must maintain the overall grade point of average(CGPA) equivalent to or higher than any ONE of the followings;

 [2.64 on a 4.0 scale, 2.80 on a 4.3 scale, 2.91 on a 4.5 scale, 3.23 on a 5.0 scale, or score percentile(80% or above)]

 o Health : An applicant must be in a good health, both mentally and physically, to study in Korea for the full duration of degree.

 o Preferences

 - An applicant who has attained certified scores in TOPIK level 3 or above for their proficiency in Korean may be given additional  points.

 - Descendants of the Korean War veterans will receive additional 5% of the total marks during the selection reviews.

 - Applicants who apply for the majors in the field of Natural Science and Engineering may be given preference.

 o Research Proposal (Form 4) ONLY applicable for Research Program applicants

 o Two letters of Recommendation (Form 5)

 o Letter of Invitation (Form 6) ONLY applicable for Research Program applicants

 o KGSP Applicant Agreement (Form 7)

 o Personals Medical Assessment (Form 8)

 o Bachelor's/Master's Diploma or Certificate of Degree

 o Bachelor's/Master's degree Transcript

 o Applicant's Proof of Citizenship

 o Parents' Proof of Citizenship

  * Please read the '2021 GKS application guidelines' thoroughly and refer to the following notes before making your application.

  ** You must submit ONE complete set of original application documents and three sets of photocopied application documents.

     Total FOUR sets of documents must be combined by a paper clip/binder clip each.   (Do not use stapler to bind them.)

  *** Application documents must be submitted in the order of the checklist(‘Application Checklist’) on the first page of the application forms. Each required document must be numbered and labeled on the top right corner. (ex. 9. Certificate of Bachelor’s degree)

 6. Application Submission

 All the application documents should arrive by Thursday 11 March 2021 by mail only at the following address. (It must be postmarked no later than March 11 2021)
